Edmonds is proud to have on staff a Red Seal Certified Landscape Horticulturist.
"Established in the 1950s, the Red Seal Program is Canada’s standard of excellence for skilled trades. The program is a partnership between the federal, provincial and territorial governments and is administered in each province and territory under the guidance of the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA). The Red Seal endorsement provides evidence that a tradesperson has met the Canadian standard of skills and knowledge required in his/her trade.
In 2009, the trade of Landscape Horticulture was added to the Red Seal listing in Nova Scotia.
The tradesperson is officially defined as persons who 'survey and assess landscape, draw sketches and interpret plans. They construct and maintain gardens, parks, golf courses and other landscape environments. In addition, they advise clients on issues related to horticulture and landscape construction. Landscape horticulturists also propagate, cultivate and study plants, and treat injured and diseased trees and plants.'
Lisa Gardner earned her Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist designation April, 2015 and joined Edmonds in April 2016.
With over 17 years of experience in the industry, she brings a wide range of knowledge to our team. Lisa's involvement in the landscape industry includes areas of landscape and garden maintenance, lawn care, plant and shrub health and integrated pest management with a personal love of pollinators.
Keith Weagle started in the landscape industry in 2010 and joined Edmonds Spring of 2013; earning his Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist designation January, 2024.
Working in the landscape field for over 14 years, lawn care is Keith's dominant avenue. Turf health and proper landscape maintenance practices are a highlight in his work and Keith continues to broaden his knowledge; keeping appraised on ever-changing industry standards and the effect on the work we do.
The gardens look great and if I'm being honest, it's been the best part of our home renovations so far! Thank you, Trudy, for helping us have the nicest gardens in the South End! We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate the work that you, Mark, and the crew have done to bring our property to life!

Trudy, pass on to Mark and team that we are very happy with their work. Three significant rainfalls have happened since they installed our new landscape drainage system. The basement has never been this dry since we moved in this place 10 years ago. And the sump pump which is usually active during rainfalls has been very quiet.

We appreciate that they have sufficient resources in terms of their equipment and that it is consistently in good working order, as well as sufficient labour forces.
