Why Edmonds? Community Outreach.
We believe in serving and supporting, in a variety of ways, our community and our environment. There are many worthy organizations we review each year. Some of our primary community support initiatives:
Feed Nova Scotia is a charitable organization that helps feed hungry people by collecting and distributing food to more than 150 member agency food banks and meal programs, while at the same time striving to eliminate chronic hunger and poverty through research, awareness and support programs. In addition to significant periodic corporate financial assistance throughout the year, each Christmas our employees are invited to pledge lots of turkeys and we match their gift. We find each year our people are more generous than the last.
L'Arche Halifax, a community of people who have intellectual disabilities side by side with those who come to assist. They share life and daytime activities together in family like settings integrated with local neighbourhoods. There are 29 such communities of L'Arche located across Canada from Cape Breton to Vancouver Island with nearly 200 homes and workshops/day programs in Canada.
For over 15 years Project COLORS has helped guide and grow children's aid and animal rescue projects in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Mexico, Madagascar and Sri Lanka.
By creating opportunities, training and sponsorship, Project COLORS strives to inspire all people to become positive agents of change.
A peaceful, historic site, Our Lady of Grace Monastery is now home to a group of Contemplative Augustinian Nuns. Here these religious sisters live out their lives consecrated to Our Lord where they pray for petitions received, friends and supporters of the monastery, the Church and the whole world."
The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that gives hope and support to vulnerable people in 400 communities across Canada and in 131 countries.
The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
Hope and Healing International serves as the hands joining Canadians and people living with or affected by disabilities in the poorest communities – working together for the benefit of all.
Hospice Halifax is a compassionate and supportive community of staff members, volunteers, and donors dedicated to making dying and living as comfortable and as meaningful as possible at the end of life.
Edmonds is privileged to provide landscape maintenance and snow and ice management services without cost for Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families who travel long distances for medical treatment.
Hope for Wildlife is a wildlife rehabilitation and education centre located 20 minutes from Dartmouth in Seaforth, Nova Scotia. Their Mission is the rehabilitation and release into the wild of injured and orphaned wildlife; the education of our children and the general public regarding the importance of conservation of various wildlife species and the ecosystems that sustain them.
Contributed significantly to rebuilding St. George’s Church following the devastating fire of 1994. We currently continue to provide landscape/snow & ice management services at no charge, year round. This helps to fund an administrator in the parish office which better enables the parish to respond to the wide variety of ‘clients’ that are part of broad community outreach initiatives.
The Street Connection is a mobile soup kitchen that operates in four low income areas of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Volunteers on the bus distribute free food and bread to an average of three hundred men, women, and children each week.
Through Plan International, World Vision, and Christian Blind Mission, our sponsorship includes 18 children each year. In their world this support can facilitate life changing benefits for whole communities. Additional financial support as we are able especially to Christian Blind Mission.
Dedicated medical personnel sharing their skills to relieve pain and suffering, Doctors without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.
With financial support from all levels of the community, the QEII Foundation helps fund new technologies, medical research, innovation and professional education that contribute to life-changing moments experienced every day by patients and their loved ones at the QEII. By working together with people who share a vision of better health, the Foundation strengthens care delivered at the QEII, improving the health and lives of Atlantic Canadians.
Samaritan's Purse Canada is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization that has been providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world since 1973.

Mark and his team were very professional. They worked efficiently and left the property looking as I had requested. Mark accommodated my request to further trim back bushes and a few tree limbs. What they did in one day would have taken me weeks and investment in more garden tools.
Thank you for accommodating my tight time line for this job!!
We recently had Mark and Kelly from Edmonds put in a brick walkway for us. I had provided a picture of what I was looking for and I got exactly what I was hoping for. The team at Edmonds were great to work with and I will certainly use them again for any future landscaping projects I may have.
I want to pass along the positive comments that we have been receiving here at the Dominion Building regarding the cleanliness of our sidewalks since the storm. Your hard work and effort has not gone unnoticed.

We have been receiving very positive feedback from everyone who is outside on the grounds during our Convocation days. Again many thanks to you and your team for so successfully taking on the challenge of having the campus ready for convocation in the last few weeks.

We had a vision of a stone terrace that reminded us of our favorite café in Barcelona, Spain. Edmonds Landscape professionally guided us with their knowledge and expertise. They listened to our ideas and when asked provided us with excellent advice to get the most out of our space and showed great attention to our level of satisfaction. The outcome was better than we had envisioned.
Edmonds has had the landscape maintenance contract for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal since 1999. Our landscape contract covers fourteen diverse properties, some with high public visibility such as the Swiss Air Memorial sites, Government House, Province House and the Museum of Natural History. I have an excellent working relationship with the company. Edmonds responds immediately to special requests; work crews are well trained and work is of a very high quality in their attention to detail.

Any of the jobs that I have had done - be they pavers, tree trimming or garden beds, or fence construction - were all done well and I was satisfied…The quality of the workmanship and materials supplied remain long after the cost has been forgotten.
We have contracted with Edmonds for snow removal services for over two dozen properties over the past twenty years. We appreciate that they have sufficient resources in terms of their equipment and that it is consistently in good working order, as well as sufficient labour forces. They also have access to extended resources in the event that extra assistance is required, so that we are not constantly in a position of waiting to be serviced.

The time came for us to give up snow clearance on our double driveway and walks so we decided to contact Edmonds. The service has been outstanding. Our drive and walks have been shoveled and cleared before 6:00 am. In the event that we are 'plowed in' later on, a quick call brings almost immediate results. It has been a great relief to have such good service.
Edmonds has been contracted for seasonal maintenance at many properties that I have managed throughout my 17 year property management career. Edmonds has proven they are capable of looking after all aspects of landscape maintenance and snow removal. Risk management is a large part of my responsibility. Edmonds safety program in my opinion not only leads the industry but also serves as a model for any business.

Edmonds has provided Landscape Maintenance services to Saint Mary’s University for the past many years. The service is provided on a timely basis to meet the needs of our students and is very thorough. They have taken on a true ownership role in terms of the appearance of the Saint Mary’s University grounds.
